When Blue Water Development Corp. (BWDC) converted its Eastern Shore of Virginia campgrounds to KOA properties, they decided it was a great time to refresh the property websites along with the rebrand of these popular vacation destinations.
The goal of the redesign was to convey the beauty of the campgrounds, showcase the long list of property amenities and organize content for specific audience types — tent, RV and cottage campers. They also wanted to expand their calendar of events to a more visual layout to attract interest. Since most of their website visitors are mobile users, an improved mobile experience was a priority, and, of course, the overall plan was to increase bookings.
Enter Team Inclind including Nick Bumgarner on front-end, Amy Wood on design and Nancy Jones leading the effort. The project called for close collaboration with BWDC’s marketing team through the process of architecture, design, development and content integration. Weekly stand-ups with both teams were held to ensure goals were being met and the websites were shaping up to meet the marketing team’s vision.
According to Deserie Lawrence, BWDC’s chief marketing officer, “We’ve been working with Inclind for the past three seasons and each site refresh gets better and better. Not only do our customers remark on the vibrance and user-friendly experience, but our competitors have started to mimic so many elements which of course, makes us prideful knowing that we’re extending our constant drive for innovation to the digital environment as well. Working with a professional and progressive team like this gives us the ability offer a first class impression to all our potential guests; win-win in our book!”
