Wouldn't a separate front and back-end create a larger security risk because there's more to keep track of?

On the surface it may seem that the more you need to keep track of the more margin for error and potential security risk there is (which is unfortunately true). However, unless the security is neglected on your website this isn't something you need to worry about (especially with Inclind on your side). When you have a traditional CMS you rely completely on the CMS vendor and any third-party applications integrated into it to maintain security and deter vulnerabilities. Of course, this doesn't mean that a Decoupled site requires less diligence, but having more control and freedom over what CMS and third-party integrations are used helps minimize risk.
